USCAP A consortium of major corporations and environmental groups that has produced a balanced report and excellent web portal on energy efficiency, climate change and the opportunities it represents.  Participants are Alcoa, GE, BP, Caterpillar, Duke Energy, DuPont, Lehmann Brothers.  Their report for a mandatory market-driven solution is brief and easy to follow.     "In our view, the climate change challenge will create more economic opportunities than risks for the U.S. economy."  See the report page 5.
   

Major Corporations

 
Dell Dell's program includes recycling, planting trees to offset GHG emissions as part of computer purchases, and corporate reporting in terms of carbon emissions and energy usage.  This is their main policy portal.
WalMart Surprise!!  The major corporate presence in Epping has a most-aggressive campaign to address carbon emissions, global change, and energy efficiency.  Their programs are innovative and some of their newer stores are among the most efficient found anywhere.  While Epping's store is still very progressive, some of their recent models are simply amazing Renewable Energy  -  Sustainable Design in WalMart buildings - Aurora Colorado Store
Lowe's Our other major corporate citizen has policies not only on energy efficiency but also wood products.
BP An aggressive statement from one of the world's largest oil companies.  "
Chevron/Texaco Another major oil company. "First, we understand our responsibility as a caretaker, as a steward of the environment. Our absolute goal must be no harm – to the environment or to the people we come in contact with through our operations and our products. Toyota Welcoming our newest corporate resident shows that there is no stopping the power of energy efficiency and the impacts that a corporate policy promoting this effort has on the bottom line as Toyota continues to add jobs in the US and climbs the corporate ladder while other companies, who have ignored such issues, continue to fail.
Exxon/Mobil Press reports on Exxon/Mobil's decision to cease funding the CEI - an entity that has been critical of climate change science.
Federal Express "FedEx recognizes effective environmental management as a global corporate priority, and we are actively involved in environmental innovations and technologies designed to support this priority. In fact, FedEx is among the best Fortune 500 companies for its initiatives in environmental issues, according to the Council on Economic Priorities' Corporate Responsibility Profile for Environment.* "
Ford "Ford Motor Company has consistently acknowledged the potentially serious consequences of climate change. We are committed to improving fuel economy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our range of vehicles. We will continue working on innovative policy approaches that encourage the development of advanced technologies and lessen greenhouse gas emissions. We have set several voluntary targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from our plants, and we seek to achieve several industry emission-reduction targets for our products."

We have innovative programs designed to increase the energy efficiency of our operations, reduce waste and protect the environment in communities where we work. QualComm QUALCOMM is committed to being a positive and creative force in the protection and enhancement of the local and global environment.
